The Divine is not Separate from the Beast -Lenore Kandel Vol. 1; Issue 3: Feb. 2004 |
This Issue Welcome to The Divine Animal. We are pleased to be able to feature Lenore Kandel in our first issue. You will find not only a selection of Kandel’s brilliant and visionary work but also a passionate and in depth piece of criticism on Kandel’s poetry by John Yates. In addition to Kandel, we are featuring the erotic photography of Fred Ellis and the stunning self-portraits of Lara Ellis. We also have fiction set in the Kotzebue Sound of Alaska and an essay concerning the language of eros. There are seven poets included this month, more than one of which are well published and one or two that are virtually unheard of. Regardless, their work is consistently strong, lyrical and undoubtedly sexual. Please be sure to read About The Divine Animal for a better understanding of the origins and mission of this journal.
